Listening to the 1994 recording of Showboat at the gym. Probably the first show I saw (96 or 97 at the defunct Ford Centre in Vancouver) where I thought - oh musicals don’t just have to be fun. What a show though. Still remember the boat floating on to stage. Breathtaking. Hal Prince FTW.

After the event I stayed to dance in my underwear and was wearing ankle boots as part of my original outfit.
