Retired meteorologist from the Los Angeles area. Always curious and observing nature.
This one-year in reflection briefing only verifies how crazy Trump has become. Congress needs to do its job and remove him now.

Woke up this morning to discover my retirement had been robbed of thousands of dollars, all thanks to comments and threats from POTUS to our European allies. He may destroy us this week unless some grownups push back.

How is Greenland needed for “national security reasons” when the POTUS claims that climate change is a hoax?!
January 19, 2026 at 4:48 PM
He’s done it! Definitely the most embarrassing POTUS in the history of this nation, by far. No one else comes close to the biggest buffoon to ever exist.

Had lunch at a Guy Ferrari-approved restaurant today in Santa Barbara.

Unreal.
Markets run on trust. If the ref starts live-tweeting the score before kickoff, don’t be shocked when fans stop buying tickets—and investors stop buying stocks.
January 9, 2026 at 11:55 PM
The shock that I felt on January 6th five years ago was equally as bad as that from 9/11 in 2001.

To not have a national recognition of this day is a shame and to support the narrative that an insurrection didn’t happen is frankly INSANE.

All aboard the AI train wreck. Maybe slowdown and take time to check for accuracy.
Amid a big agency push to use AI models in weather prediction, the National Weather Service shared a forecast map riddled with spelling mistakes, non-existent locations and other geographical errors.

And what will Cuba be about, because it’s next?!
Venezuela isn't about fentanyl or national security. It's about oil and Epstein.

We don’t arrest heads of states or put boots on the ground fighting over solar or wind power.

Over 8” of rain from this singular storm easily exceeds rainfall totals from all of last year in Ventura. This is not normal. Our storms are becoming more extreme and the gentle rain days are mostly nonexistent, especially in the last five years.
December 26, 2025 at 6:01 PM
1.0” in 30 minutes and still moderate to heavy rain in Ventura. Crazy amount of rain in 48 hours, over 5.8” so far.
December 26, 2025 at 12:47 AM
0.50” in 10 minutes in Ventura!

You rarely see this type of convective line over southern CA extending nearly 100 miles, especially on Christmas Day. Wow! Heavy rain is about 5 miles wide and there is potential for waterspouts and small tornadoes.

This may or may not(?) be the Pearl River along the Mississippi-Louisiana border that I photographed on a flight from FL. Thought the meandering course of the water was exceptional.

We’ve received over 8.5” of rain in Ventura, CA since October 1st. More than all of the previous water year and not far from Olympia, WA rainfall totals (8.9”). Haven’t seen any banana slugs here yet.
November 21, 2025 at 9:13 PM
Almost as much rain in 1 month as we received in all of the previous 12, and this is a La Niña winter?!
We had somewhere in the vicinity of 6.5” last water year (Oct-Sept).

How does this happen?

I reserve a rental car at a stated price a month in advance. I pick up the car with a printout of the stated price. Then, after returning the car I am overcharged nearly double what I expected to pay. This is a scam.
