Even running all settings on low and ultra performance on my PC (fairly mid-range) the game will start stuttering and freezing on bot mission #2 or 3.

I do appreciate Arrowhead working to fix the crashes but can we address one of the many elephants in the room that playing bot missions will just slowly kill your performance until you restart the game

Nintendo pricing each Mario Galaxy game at $40 each with no new content, DOUBLE for what it was on Wii U just emphasizes how much their new attitude towards pricing is essentially that they can get away with whatever they want.
