This animation shows the winds are going to howl along parts of the northeastern United States coastline from a developing nor'easter tonight into Monday. High pressure over Atlantic Canada helps drive the high winds (pressure gradient) and also keeps this system south of the region... #nlwx

Expect a few showers over southeast Labrador through the day. They'll arrive over western areas of the island, including the GNP< this afternoon and evening. The rest of the Island will see the showers overnight. (OCT 11, 2025 | 8:17 AM) #nlwx

Good Monday morning! We're seeing some nice temperatures on the Island, while it's already quite warm in parts of Labrador. The heat dominates the weather pattern today and over the next few days on the Island. In Labrador, it won't last as long! #nlwx

A cold front has been working across the Island through much of the day and has just cleared much of the Avalon. The mild temperatures from this morning and early afternoon are now a thing of the past! #nlwx

If you have some plans tonight, you'll need a jacket!

Temperatures today across the Province will climb into the upper teens and lower 20s. Some daily records may fall, particularly for areas where those records are in the upper teens. #nlwx 2/3
A map of the high temperatures across the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador today. Temps reach the middle to upper teens on the Island and teens in Labrador. Showers are expected to arrive in Lab West later today.

Good morning! Warmer air moved in overnight and temperatures warmed significantly. Particularly for the Metro area. We dropped as low as ~ 2º last evening before rising overnight. #nlwx 1/3

Some of the showers that moved through earlier brought some hail! This was the scene in Arnold's Cove just after 7 PM!

Looking at that frost threat tonight and a fall-like day tomorrow... after that it won't feel quite as much like the season as warmer air looms yet again! #nlwx

Good Tuesday morning!

It's a quiet-ish start to the day, but we are seeing a few showers out there at this hour. I expect a mix of sun and cloud with scattered showers today, along with some breezy spots... particularly in Labrador. #nlwx

Two systems are swirling in the Atlantic, and neither looks to bring appreciable rainfall to NL or Atlantic Canada. Check out my forecast tonight in a familiar fashion... in front of a screen, a 98-inch screen! #nlwx

It is becoming clearer today that Humberto will not pose a threat to Atlantic Canada. (Image 1)

There is another storm, currently designated as PTC (Potential Tropical Cyclone) 9, which needs to be monitored, but early indications point toward the same outcome. (image 2)
