Finally, someone else who also isn't a fan of the color correction from that fanmade 4K Definitive Edition. I get that it was attempting to much more accurately represent the colors as they would've been on the original animation cels, but they just look too jarring and I always disliked that aspect

Guess the Note9 has finally decided it's had enough of me, the case has slightly pried itself apart from the battery. So per a friend's suggestion, I got a Sony Xperia 1V, surprisingly a modern phone without a notch and a headphone jack. Kinda surprised I hadn't heard of these before.

It was so broken that I couldn't even uninstall it from the Windows Features section. Running any command under wsl, wslconfig, or ubuntu just yielded mysterious errors. Eventually I tracked the issue down to the "update" from Home to LTSC having wiped LXSS keys from HKLM/HKCU. It works again!

Running any command under wsl or wslconfig yields "WSL is finishing an upgrade... Catastrophic failure! Error code: Wsl/CallMsi/Install/E_UNEXPECTED"
While running Ubuntu from the Microsoft Store yields "Installing, this may take a few minutes... WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070050 The file exists."

The progress of WSL slowly coming back to life as I restore the LXSS registry keys. Initially it's still quite broken, only launching as root, but when it's fully restored, it appears to work correctly.

For those who weren't aware: On the night of September 12th to 13th, the only remaining outlet for XeNTaX, its Discord server, had been deleted. From the gathered info I've been told about, a rogue mod most likely did it. This is truly the end of an era.

Triangles are encoded in the blue vertex color channel, apparently. Honestly, I'm not even surprised; the PS2 is notorious for its ridiculously alien-like 3D hardware, so insane stuff like this does crop up from the to time for optimization.

Just when I thought I had suffered through the worst mind-boggling challenges Criterion threw at me when reverse engineering the Burnout 3: Takedown/Legends/Revenge/Dominator PS2 track models, they somehow still managed to surprise me with B2. WHERE ARE THE TRIANGLE STRIP TERMINATORS FOR TRACKS???

So anyway, I've now properly dumped the Floc DVD and am in the process of uploading it to the Internet Archive for all to enjoy, since it has an English audio track as well.
