The gist of the recently released NSS that the US having lost the future to China is going to focus on its own geographically isolated hemispherical zone of influence, from Greenland all the way down, suggests that Venezuela might mostly have been Trump lifting his leg and marking his territory.
Good thing they issued that "National Security Strategy of the United States of America" which emphasized that South America is in the US's rightful sphere of influence before they got in there and started influencing with bombs and kidnapping.

The moral atrocity of the Iraq war rests with the nation because it was precipitated through Congress and all the "correct" channels, but the moral atrocity that is Trump rests with the nation because it elected him twice. Happy New Year all you exceptionals!

Silence of the Lambs: A hallmark in the evolution of a culture whose appetite for ever more gratuitous/retributive/righteous violence has elevated sociopaths to protagonists. And now Donald Trump is president and the end of the world (order) is nigh. Happy New Year.

Right, because when Trump says things like "I'm going to be a dictator" it makes sense that some people will think "He doesn't really mean that so I guess I'll vote for him." No, this is what they hear: "I'm going to fuck over the people that you don't like." And that's what they vote for.

I see lots of people with exceedingly unfounded and irrational conviction that the release of the Epstein files, regardless of how redacted they are and regardless of what they reveal, is going to meaningfully change anything. Let's reconvene here in 6 months so I can I-told-you-so.

I'm sorry but if you attribute sincerity, delusional or otherwise, to anything Trump says you simply don't understand how he operates, you simply don't understand how lying works.

Apparently no moral consideration here, just money and *American* lives. What if the enemy of my enemy is also an ethnocentric sociopath?
Rand Paul: "The president also said, 'Be careful Colombia, you could be next.' I mean, if we're gonna go and topple regime after regime in South America, there's no amount of money that could be printed to pay for that and I don't think lives should be lost without a vote by Congress."

That he is in the midst of a dementia drug protocol is almost certainly the correct explanation. It fits the facts of the routine IV injections and the MRI and also explains why he resurrected his boasting about taking that test and being able to identify a giraffe or whatever.
"Unsurprisingly, the White House is trying to lie its way through it. The only explanation offered so far for Trump's mangled hand is a laughable one about 'frequent handshaking.' And president now says it's 'treasonous' to report on his health."

You could only say that Trump "admitted" something if you believe what he admitted to was true, but you can't possibly assume that such things he says aren't just more lies.
Awful: Trump just admitted in a new interview that he knows "very little" about the Honduran ex-president he pardoned. This guy trafficked a gazillion times more drugs into the US than anyone Trump has executed. Wrecks his case for the boat bombings.
