Judge rules George R.R. Martin and other authors can sue OpenAI for copyright infringement

• Said ChatGPT generated 'Game of Thrones' content similar enough to infringe copyright

• OpenAI’s motion to dismiss was denied
This is the dumbest shit I've ever heard
Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD.
Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned).

When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.
I make comics too you should follow me

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time
Low key feel like the UN ought to sponsor a trip for every American to come visit a Nordic nation so they can see socialism work

*For context I don't think this joke would work outside of countries like Denmark where the existential insecurity is so low that people can afford themselves not to worry about what their kid is gonna be when they grow up.
Flashback to asking my brother a month after my nephew was born of they'd decided that their baby was gonna be when he grew up yet and being met with the inquisitive and stone faced reply of "... what do you mean? We just want him to be happy."
My brother and sister in law are busy raising a happy kid, I'm trying to raise an ominous one 🙏
Once my nephew grows old enough to understand what people are saying I won't belabor him with outbursts like "my you've grown" whenever I see him

Instead I'll hit him with sundial mottos like "time flies", "the hour grows near" and "life is but a passing shadow, the shadow of a bird on the wing."
I'm cleaning my room and I'm finding all sorts of treats from a bag of candies that blew up, feels like some sort of side quest where I get continually rewarded.

(Don't worry the candies are wrapped 🙏)
I can imagine which voices exactly gave you that reaction lol
I know, theirs are funny ours is goofy af
screw it back on.

I'm all for Climate friendly legislation, but there are some things that are just kind of dumb and pretending they're not is just going to let fascists further entrench themselves in the position that leftists are delusional, even when it comes to small things.
Also I love the EU but the one rule they've instated that infuriates me is the fact that the plastic ring that holds plastic bottle caps to their respective bottle has become impossible to break off because they don't want us throwing it away which results in awkward situations where you can barely-
Still got paper straws in Denmark for a bunch of things and they suck. Especially for boba, my God. Also as a kitbasher who's an avid user of plastic straws it's been pretty frustrating.
Proof that my life has taken a wrong turn somewhere: I'm coming down off the flu and all I can think about is when am I well enough to go for a run?

What happened? Who am I even any more? What happened to that little kid who just wanted to stay inside and build robots?
Danish accent still sucks don't get me wrong 💀
Was hangin w a bunch of swedes in Belgium once and they were all convinced the Swedish one sucked more. That's when I realised the Danish accent actually, in addition to sounding stupid of course, also has that sing songy quality to it which had never occurred to me before.
I have gone from hating the Danish accent the most to hating the German one more. That's called evolution. No more self-hatred, from now on we take it out on the Germans instead ✊

I think the idea that punk necessarily has to be about violence and attitude is what allows dumbass cops and reactionary stand ups to think they're being punk by shilling for the man. After all they have the paraphernalia, attire and "in-your-face-ness" of the movement yet none of the consciousness.

I think snobbery is good, more people should be more critical of what they consume. I think what I don't like is just being in an environment where some sort of competitive snobbishness is going on, where being a snob is about power and not about media literacy and criticality.
