Chief Meteorologist at WBZ-TV in Boston, MA.

Storms, nature, sports, beer. Not necessarily in that order.
It's been hard to buy some decent snowflakes in Boston. A chance for a coating or so tomorrow, but if not measureable the city will move to 3rd longest streak on record. Last measureable snowfall in Boston was Feb 16th! #wbz

Just one model run and probably won't verify but posting just because it's funny

The NYC-Boston snow hole has been.a heck of a thing past several years. Still trying to hold on

Some good news on a very chilly day...this weekend brings our earliest sunsets

Slowly they start moving later again next week

Latest sunrises don't occur until early January. #wbz

Let's check in on Mt. Washington tonight...
December 5, 2025 at 2:50 AM
Here come the scattered snow squalls. Look for a blast of wind right behind this front with some gusts >40mph for a couple hours, coupled with the rapidly dropping temperatures. #wbz
December 4, 2025 at 8:30 PM
As promised, December bringing the cold early and often. Very chilly stretch next 10 days at least. Backyard rinks are free to flood! #wbz

Radar check a little after 11a. The rain line will advance north this afternoon as precip picks up, particularly in eastern MA up to around the NH border
December 2, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Snowy interior/high elevations tomorrow, cold rain east

Snow accumulation closer to Boston would be at the *end* later tomorrow evening and relatively minor, but slick roads

Toughest call is Merrimack Valley area on the edge of significant snow or minor slop
December 2, 2025 at 2:59 AM
Boston has officially taken hold of the 2nd longest streak on record without a 6" snowfall

It won't snap this week, but interior areas of New England will pass that mark. Looking at tomorrow's snow on #wbz this evening
December 1, 2025 at 9:03 PM
First Winter Storm Watches of the season. Looking like 6-12" across interior areas on Tuesday. Here we go!

Mostly rain in SE Mass...slushy minor accumulations in and just south of Boston

In what's been an extremely steady month temperature-wise, today will end up the most anomalous day. 4 shy of the record for the date. Overall November will finish a bit cooler than average, though.
November 26, 2025 at 9:56 PM
Unless Boston can get 0.1" with a snow shower on Friday, it will make 7 straight Novembers without measureable snow. Ties the longest stretch on record (2005-2011 also 7 straight).

There was an excellent standing lenticular cloud over the Presidentials today! Otherworldly standing over Mount Washington.

Here's a look at why they form ->

Winter Outlook is up! Always fun to take an educated guess at the season ahead, since it's the one everyone either loves to love or loves to hate.

The title of this graphic is "This cannot go on for much longer"

Tonight is our Winter Outlook! Usually gives a good idea of the winter theme ahead, a couple times a total bust, but always entertaining. See you at 5 on WBZ

Will it or won't it? So close to a true major SSW end of this week

Feels more like a "stretch" event but either way, what does it mean?

We're chatting polar vortex on WBZ this evening

Feeling like every day is the same? The temperature range so far this month in Boston is only 30 degrees. If it holds, that would be the smallest range on record for any month of the year except July and August.

A slight chance of topping 62F next week or getting a bit below 32F...we will see
November 21, 2025 at 12:32 AM
Coldest night so far with excellent radiational cooling. Should be the first 32F of the season for Boston as well
November 20, 2025 at 3:15 AM
Taking a look around at which New England ski areas are open or planning to be open this weekend

Bretton Woods and Black Mountain opened last weekend but currently don't have an update on if they will be back open this weekend (my guess is probably yes). #wbz ⛷️🏂

Sometimes November just feels like a holding pattern month. Not quite fall, not quite winter. Just waiting for the next thing. Not a whole lot of action next 7 days...seasonable. #wbz
November 18, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Mount Mansfield acting as an excellent fence to catch all the moist upslope flow lately

Highest snow depth since at least 1954 for this date!

The Patriots already have more wins this season than the last two seasons combined

I like this better. #WeAreBack
