I'm excited to share that the book I'm co-authoring with my daughter, 'Sea Legs' (coming 2027), has been shortlisted for the #sustainablestoryaward from World of Books. The Award highlights authors whose work speaks to urgent themes of social justice and sustainable futures.

Big news! The digital edition of Alice Thornton's four Books is now complete and online. There are 1,019 pages (c. 270,000 words) of Thornton’s life-writings in both modernised and semi-diplomatic versions and they are fully searchable.

Today was my last day working with P6/P7 classes at the National Museum of Flight for Tyne and Esk Writers. Thank you to the Scottish Book Trust for supporting these sessions through the Live Literature Programme.

Lovely to work with two more classes of young learners on creative writing inspired by WW2 items - today at the National Museum of Flight.

Inside, in front of some windows, a yellow ribbon is tied up as a washing line with wooden clothes pegs. Young people’s hands peg up postcards made to look like telegrams from WW2. The cards display the young people’s own words written in pencil.
