Andy Zahn for WA LD20
@electandy.bsky.social
I grew up in Toutle, working as a farm hand, public lands steward, writer, and photographer. I am running for the legislature not to become a career politician, but to fight for rural SW WA and everything I love about this place. 20th LD 2026 candidate

My platform:
1. Industrial hemp
2. New parks where we live
3. Revitalizing rural communities

We need real solutions for the challenges we face in rural Washington State. We must forge a better future for ourselves and future generations.

Western #Washington needs large new parks to revitalize our rural communities and protect our best remaining wild landscapes.

My plan would place a new park next to ever suitable rural community and build 3000 miles of new trails & around 1250 new campsites. #waleg #parkchat

If you live in WA leg district 20, support & vote for #AndyZahn! It’s rare when we LD20 voters have opportunity to vote for anyone but the incumbent. More vitally though Andy is super smart, energetic, passionate about sustainable land use, forest preservation, and biodiversity. Lifelong LD20 local.

Industrial hemp is the key to sustainable economic success in rural Washington. It's one of the most efficient and versatile materials available.

Industrial Hemp has the potential to boost profits for farmers, create thousands of good union jobs, and provide communities with reliable revenue.

Data centers prey on rural communities - taking advantage of desperate people and lax regulations.

If elected, I'd seek to pass legislation to ban the construction of new data centers, prevent existing data centers from running generative AI programs, and ensure data centers pay their fair share.
Data centers target rural communities for lower costs, not to create high-quality jobs, study finds
Local governments often tell residents that the power-hungry developments will bring numerous tech jobs to their communities. A new study contradicted that.
