Gen X spinster aunt. Idaho to Louisville. Corporate drone from 8-5; devastatingly quiet from 5-8. Learning Mandarin. Going for a hike.

Let's take better care of each other, okay?

Liam is lucky; his hat helped identify and humanize him. But what about the thousands of other children in custody who have no names or faces to the public, despite having done nothing wrong and are now in detention?

Dreaming of apple trees, apricots, plums, pears, currants, gooseberries, blackberries, raspberries... with a small urban yard that is like: pick one thing.

I know this is bitchy post, but if I were in charge of increasing donors and membership at Speed Museum, I would:

* Send an email to new/renewing members, with member info for reference
* Show a member's expiration/renewal date online when they login
* Send an annual reminder email to renew

Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:

1990s Liberal Arts College Edition:

* Animals & Human Societies
* Middle Eastern Politics
* Astronomy
* Milton
* Feminist Theory
This trend is giving me life. College is cool, knowledge is great. The liberal arts is rad. Being well rounded is the GOAT.

Fund all colleges and universities. We should be throwing money at them. Make it affordable for all. Let people take underwater basket weaving if they choose.
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:
1. Marine Biology (we got to go out on a boat!)
2. The History of the Holocaust
3. Logic and Critical Thinking
4. Eastern Religions
5. The French Revolution

Schitt's Creek was the first show that really made me laugh again after my brother died. It made me remember that the world could still be beautiful and hilarious even though life felt so hard and sad.

What a treasure. What a loss.

Doing Lat Am history homework about the new post-revolution republics. Vast wealth disparities + lack of funds for investments in infrastructure and public institutions led to more conservative states run by populist strongmen propped up by personal armies and patronage/spoils systems.

It is a travesty that I can't go see High Art at Speed Cinema today to reactivate my fin de siècle crush on Ally Sheedy, but hey Louisville: you should go see it.

Yesterday, after shoveling snow for the fourth day in a row, my knees were what hurt most. Twenty-four hours later, what hurts most is my ribs (or diaphragm?). Bodies are weird.

Who dug herself an exit from the snowbank today?
Good job, self!
