Truly alarming how prevalent this view (“the world is not important”) is in many Christian circles when the Bible emphasizes our hope is for 1. a bodily resurrection 2. God repairing what’s broken about the world.

Autobiographical side note: the idea that the world must be a second tier concern was the main reason I left religion in general and Christianity in particular. I thought the world was the most interesting thing; religions seem to view the world as, at best, a second place to Something Else.
