For nearly a decade, the JAXA Akatsuki mission has been investigating the bonkers climate of our neighbouring world 🛰️. But contact has been lost, and our last presence at Venus—the only other Earth-sized world we can visit—has now ended. My latest for Cosmos 🤸‍♂️🧪🔗: cosmos.isas.jaxa.jp/our-last-pre...
I have honestly been wondering this all week.
Why exactly have the political media just noticed that massive racist Nigel Farage is a massive racist?

Overseas guest? What you need is the children’s menu at the JAXA cafeteria that is served on a space shuttle dinner tray!

(He did in fact agree that this was exactly what was required 😂)

Summer is over. Underground, water freezes and the terrain above begins to crack. The resulting periglacial features indicate hidden ice on the Earth, but could such patterns also point to an accessible source of water on Mars? 🛰️ My latest for #JAXA Cosmos 🤸‍♂️🧪: cosmos.isas.jaxa.jp/digging-in-m...

#ESAEnvision will address several key questions about Venus:

🌋 How geologically active is the planet today?
☁️ How are its thick clouds sustained?
🥵 How does Venus lose its heat?
💦 Where did its water go?
🪨 How does the planet’s surface change over time?

I have just sent a request to Purra the Kanganaut at the Australian Space Agency for a message to be included in a new campaign by the JAXA Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission.

I did include Purra's name in the list cleared with the mission team, but truthfully they may have missed this 😅

You’ve probably heard this claim: Climate’s always changing!

It's true, Earth’s climate has changed before. But not this fast, and not for this reason.

I was eating a sandwich on a bench when a random older dude came up and tried to talk to me. When I ignored him, he stood right in front of me, thrust his face at mine and said "konnichiwa".

He got a death glare. When that failed, I left.

It was NOT COOL. And yet... somehow I feel guilty.

Or perhaps you're planning to capture the retrograde motion of Mercury and Jupiter this month? (1/2)

With SNAP/EBT cuts looming I highly recommend downloading this app! Basically restaurants and other food businesses will have available bags of random food they don’t wanna waste for ppl to buy for hella cheap! This has saved me sooooo many times when I only have $5 and need some food.

In 1957, Vance and Pockriss released the song,

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for rainy day

But if you caught a meteor before it hits the Earth, you should use a ziplock bag and get it to a curation facility. Waiting for a rainy day would be the worst action. THE WORST.
