I'm a very good finder, better known as a librarian.

Y'all, I'm doing a THING on Thursday, 1/15. As nervous as I am (first professional webinar), I'm excited to present this. I hope youth services librarians & educators attending find it helpful!

Hang on, it's not June. What basketball thing happens in December that my feed is flooded with Knicks posts right now?

OK, I am totally buying it in French and will very slowly translate my way through it, but Gabriella Papadakis' memoir really, really, really needs to be translated into English just for me. 😂

UPDATE: She was accepted, early action.

I’m writing a college recommendation for a HS senior who’s currently working on a ceramics project showing AI putting walls up between humans. Kids aren’t “doomed”. Adults need to stop projecting that onto them.

(Bonus: I didn’t know she was working on it when I agreed to write said rec.)

This stat would make an awesome discussion prompt for upper elementary and middle school students. Let's stop telling them what they think and model critical thinking by asking them what they think and what their evidence is!

I want to know where along the line of human evolution, our bodies thought "Hey, what if we fought off colds by blocking off one of our main avenues of air?"

It's same energy as "Let's have this thin, very easily breakable bone oddly supporting an 8-11 pound round weight! What could go wrong?"

Just submitted my first conference proposal (solo to boot) and I think I might BARF (or sneeze...I'm running a bit of a cold). What if it's accepted? Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh.

I told a patron making copies for housing about part of the process just *yesterday*.

Patron: They're asking for all this documentation. It's probably around 50 pages.
Me: That's all? USCIS paperwork, no joke, takes anywhere from 300 pages to an entire ream of paper.
Patron: Wait, really?
taking steps to make the legal immigration process simply work the way *the average american thinks it already does* would be the single most progressive government action of my lifetime.
I think lots of people are genuinely and persistently ignorant of what the system actually is. I keep being surprised at how little knowledge there is out there and it always disappoints me. The people propagating this stuff, on the other hand...

How do I personally lobby @kohails.bsky.social/ByWater Solutions to invest in a giant server for our consortium? Koha's slowness and internal server errors are killing us (and our main office). We're a lot of libraries. We need the space! 😭 😭 😭

Will this technically belong in the adult nonfiction section in a library? Probably. Am I definitely purchasing it for the juvenile nonfiction section at my library? ABSOLUTELY.

Yes, and also, leave X if you have not already
If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

I'm going to eat my HAT trying to find this book I thought I saved for purchase. It's a collection of Jewish tales that came out this year. I believe it has a blue cover and has folktales in the title. Help?

(It's not The Festival of Lights: 16 Hanukkah Stories.)
