Youse are so nice have another #painting. "Golden Leaves IV", could be of anywhere there are trees but as it happens it was a tree a few minutes walk from my door. I painted it because I like the absence of things, such as leaves, as well as liking actual trees. #SpeirGorm #ArtYear #SpeirGhorm
Landscape format in acrylics. Silhouette of a tree, as viewed from underneath, against a rich blue sky - with most leaves gone so the tree is a scattering of roughly painted jagged shaped yellow leaves towards the outer edges mostly and orange leaves mostly in the upper centre, with some white or red detailing but mostly the tree is a network of unleafed black branches coming off its three central vertical branches which grow from where the trunk splits off picture left of centre at the bottom up at a slight angle towards the centre of the top. The blue of the sky is a slight gradient of darker higher up and lighter in the bottom. Signed bottom right, Liam Daly

"Ballycroy", a painting that came out of an idyllic time cycling in the west of Ireland - in its newest national park of Wild Nephin in County Mayo, with the blanket bogs of Ballycroy and Ireland's largest wilderness. The view I kept stopping cycling to look back at. So I painted it.
Landscape format. A road bends and disappears into a landscape of open bog rendered as a fiery orange with red and green bushes. In the distance on the left there is a small white cottage and behind it a large violet rocky mountain that tapers down to the right with more mountains further away and coloured a light purple. A sliver of water is in front of them. The sky is a light aqua blue with long large white fluffy clouds. The road surface is dark, matching the violet of the jagged mountain on the left and contrasting with the surrounding bog and with its road markings of dashed white lines down the centre and dashed yellow lines marking the edge of the road. The bog has pinks and yellows peppered throughout and more colours along the road edges where there are small ridges and or ditches. Signed bottom left: Liam Daly
