Today is about the shutdown, but I can't help feeling bowled over by the Catherine O'Hara news. What a huge and shocking loss. She was spectacular and a real source of joy, which is something the world desperately needs. I know a lot of us are going to be feeling this one.

The amount of t.A.T.u. on my feeds because of the hockey show absolutely blows my mind! That song is so deeply connected to a very specific time in my life and in queer media representation that I’m simultaneously embarrassed and delighted every time I hear it.

Instead, follow LOCAL groups and people who are doing actual work on the ground. Join them and do stuff right in your community. THAT'S where the real action is. ❤️💪

There’s a lot happening in this book that makes it not necessarily the most accessible comic of all time, but if it connects with you it’s an incredible piece of art about loving the art you love. Phonogram, and RB specifically, is genuinely one of my comfort rereads. 🖤🩶🤍
It's the 20th anniversary of Rue Britannia this year, which I'm sure I'll write about in some format. I don't recommend it often, as it's absolutely us in the garage, playing loud, and raw, raw, raw. But it's also a book which if it was the only comic I ever wrote, would have been fine to end on.
PHONOGRAM vol. 1 by @kierongillen.bsky.social , @mckelvie.bsky.social , & co. This was a reread. Hard to escape that in some ways this feels like the demo version of WicDiv. But it is also very raw in the same way. So many ideas they practically tear off the page. So much Manic Street Preachers.

I always forget that Spike Lee opens and closes Inside Man with "Chaiyya Chaiyya.” I’m glad it’s not played during the movie, because the Dil Se scene is too strong to really think about anything else once you’re hearing it.

I focused on soprano/mezzo arias that have bird content, which meant Bizet, Offenbach, and Bernstein. Nothing like the clean, crisp air of a rainy day to open up the “Glitter and Be Gay” range!

There’s a possibly new person at my regular pharmacy who looks wildly like Hannah Gadsby. To the point that I kind of don’t want to hear them talking, because any accent other than Australian might be too jarring.
