People are always asking “what are some books that capture the feeling I get when I read The Lord of the Rings” so I made a list:

It’s ok to feel tired, it’s ok to feel scared, it’s okay to be anxious and it’s ok to be angry. You feel how you feel.

Notice it, name it, then turn it into the fuel you need to stand with resolve for what matters most to you.

After pissing off local customers and advertisers, the Allen Media Group has reversed its decision to lay off local meteorologists at its 22 broadcast stations.

The plan had been to axe local talent and replace them with Weather Channel reports.

Here's a letter from WTVA in Tupelo on the reversal:
WTVA parent company reverses decision; Severe Weather Authority to remain
WTVA anchor Craig Ford provides this special announcement about the WTVA Severe Weather Authority.

Another reason why I hate insurance companies, you’re just paying for promises on a piece of paper, and as an Indigenous, I know how valuable that is 🙄 also, I saw what they did to residents of our coast after Katrina. Biggest scam ever #MyOpinion
I’ve said this a lot during Hurricane season, so let me repeat it during wildfire season: insurance companies can’t handle global warming (and they know it). The government needs to take over coverage for all natural disasters.
Last month, State Farm — the largest home insurance provider in California — said it would drop 30,000 home insurance policies across the state.

Thousands of those losing coverage are homeowners in LA County, and in the Pacific Palisades specifically.

people who say “why do we need [fine arts, humanities degrees, mid-budget films] when they don’t make a ton of money?” are insufferable. why do we need chrysanthemums? why do we need bonfires or baleen whales or the color blue? we just do. we just do.

Still knitting away at Christmas gifts. This traveling cables hat is going to do me in. 😫 But it will look gorgeous when it’s done, and my middle kiddo will be thrilled.

If the guy charged with the murder of the insurance CEO is charged with terrorism, why isn’t every school shooter charged with terrorism?

They are both meant to send a message and terrorize the public.

Okay, we have a total of 5 more days until we start our 6 days of Christmas. I have cookies to bake, presents to wrap, and my knitting to finish before then. Shouldn’t be a problem, right? 🫠

Witch Tip: Read/engage with as many myths as possible. Mythic symbolism is a language that can be learned. The more mythic symbols that your subconscious mind can draw upon, the easier it will be for spirits & the Divine to communicate with you.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.
