On this date, 24 years ago, one of the most unfairly maligned and markedly best seasons of Buffy premiered. Buffy was raised from the dead and left in her grave to claw her way to freedom. It was also established that Spike is Dawn's babysitter/protector.

Elysian Fields turns 19 this October. We are celebrating with a themed event. This year's theme? Transformation.

Also, October 1 just happens to be the 22nd anniversary of the episode Beneath You. The episode in which Spike transforms her worldview just as much as he transformed himself.

Arguably the most important date in Spuffy history. Buffy and Spike's paths were telegraphed by matching cheek marks. We saw Spike bewitched by Buffy on the dance floor, and they mutually established that when it came to each other? No weapons needed.

25 years ago, Season 5 premiered, in which we learned:

1. Buffy can't get no satisfaction from Riley so she goes out and gets her rocks off with violence
2. Dracula EXISTS in Buffyverse and is star-struck
3. Also, he owes Spike money. The scamp.
4. Dracula is no match for Buffy. Duh.

Season 7 Episode 1, Lessons, aired 23 years ago today. We got our first glance of Spike with his soul, marveled at how Buffy seemed completely unthreatened and wholly concerned about him even after what had last happened between them, and cried when he told us he tried to cut it out.
