Thrilled to be speaking at the Third Festival of Education, Thailand. As in previous years, I’ll be presenting on the Great Teaching Strand with @evidencebased.education, but I’m also very honoured to be presenting with the legendary Tom Sherrington on mastering techniques and inclusion.
Re-reading this. For those who claim that the techniques in this book are motivated by a desire for coercive control or are “literally tyranny”, I would encourage you to read the preface and explore Lemov’s motives for yourself, even if you read no further #Edusky

Here's a 15 second teaser for #CoachingWalkthrus. It's a beautiful piece of work. Such a joy to have the opportunity to work with @mattteachcoach.bsky.social and @olicav.bsky.social on this book. You will want a copy! Out in September we hope.
He loves to start confrontation and then backs down at the first sign of pushback. Standard behaviour for bullies.

For a number of reasons, I’ve haven’t read much this academic year, so I’m excited to dig into these… #EduSky
So true - am currently doing the NPQSL and it’s much better than the old NPQML I did in 2014. But so much of the content and tasks ignore my current context. Our cycle on behaviour, for instance, contained lots that just wouldn’t be necessary internationally.
All are safe and sound - thank you for asking!
My day at school today. Literally got the “Captain, my Captain” treatment from my Y13s in our last lesson, a lovely speech, and beautiful note and gift. Then, an earthquake 🥴 Still here at our Primary site with hundreds of kids.
And you gotta feel for the kids growing up in this online environment. The complexity of a teen’s internal world is so vast, without adding all this. So glad to have missed the net and social media in my teen years.
Just on episode 3. Frightening.

Excellent summary of the first meeting of the expert working party, which I’m thrilled to be a part of.
Last month, we posted about our experts  gathering for their first formal discussion of this fascinating question. Below, you can see a recap of the discussion and how you can help.

What’s distinct about the teaching of teachers, and does it matter?
Last month, TDT convened a party of education professionals. The goal? To explore and define the uniqueness of teacher learning.
