We’re out all year-round, not just at election time

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak to us today and to Cllr Ajda Ovat @ldasneves.bsky.social & @daniparry.bsky.social for helping me pick up casework & feedback to share with Council officers for action 🌹☀️
Happy yellow box junction day 🙌🏻

You can see how delighted I am to see this new addition to Bounds Green junction making it safer for residents

Thanks to all the campaigners who have fought so hard to get it installed & to @mikehakata.bsky.social & Cllr Seema Chandwani who made it happen so quickly
Sometimes it’s the small things that make a really big difference to residents & this is one of them

As you can see, I’m really pleased to have supported residents with their request for a new sign correctly labelling the pathway connecting the Three Avenues in Bounds Green
Not long to go now until Bounds Green residents safety will be improved with a new yellow box junction and a 20mph speed limit on Bounds Green Road thanks to Cllrs Seema Chandwanu & @mikehakata.bsky.social 🙌🏻

Our local councillor @emilyarkell.bsky.social emailed us yesterday with this letter, and this was some of my reply:

“It is easy to become disillusioned with politics at times, but it’s exactly this kind of thing that brings people hope that change is possible on a granular level. -/3

I’m here at Bounds Green Junction post-workout in my Britney T-Shirt to say we’ve just got HUGE NEWS through- a letter from councillors (see below), with commitments in black and white, including a commitment to a yellow box junction & 20mph limit on BG Road 🙌🏻

It’s a week of action in Bounds Green 19-23 May where anti-social behaviour, licensing & planning, litter/waste & vehicle-related crime are among the key issues to be tackled by Haringey Council

If you have an issue, come & talk to us at these locations: bit.ly/4mhXjs9
Safety at Bounds Green junction is my no. 1 priority

Today I have written to Seema and @mikehakata.bsky.social requesting urgent attention & action by Haringey Council @joannemccartney.bsky.social & @tflbot.bsky.social to improve safety at the junction to make it a safe place for residents👇🏻

We listened carefully to the issues and discussed potential solutions - thanks @mikehakata.bsky.social and Seema for coming to Bounds Green and engaging with residents

I invited Cllr Seema Chandwani & @mikehakata.bsky.social to meet with residents, local business owners & teachers from Bounds Green school

They shared their experiences of crossing the junction and concerns about its safety

🧵 On Wednesday I saw for myself the collision site at Bounds Green junction which has destroyed the barrier at the corner into Durnsford Road caused by a speeding driver

The junction is dangerous, risking the safety of residents, children & families I represent

An important message here from @perayahmet.bsky.social & @haringeywelcome.bsky.social

Haringey is a welcoming and tolerant borough which celebrates diversity and derives its strength from it
Thanks @carlafrancome.bsky.social. Safety at the Bounds Green junction safe is my no. 1 priority - that’s why I have organised an urgent meeting with residents, Cllr Seema Chandwani & @mikehakata.bsky.social
to listen to residents experiences - they’ve been waiting too long to be safe
Good morning from a Bounds Green Busybody, denim jacket over my pyjamas at the main junction at 7 AM, because there’s been a huge crash here overnight.

The Facebook group last showed a car still here, stuck on the railings. There will be hundreds and hundreds of kids … 1/8
🌹 Your @haringeylabour.bsky.social was back out on the #LabourDoorstep in Bounds Green this evening speaking to residents about housing, social care and parking 🚗

Now it’s residents turn to say how they would like that money used. Read more here: www.haringey.gov.uk/news/2025050...
