Oxford City Councillor, Green Party, UK. Loves cycling, trees, circular fashion, car-sharing, local business, community initiatives.
A great Full Council today. Personal highlights were hearing from @andrewgant.bsky.social about how much of a difference Oxfordshire’s free bus travel for asylum seekers is making; @maggieflpv.bsky.social & Emma Markham’s pro-migrant motion, and wearing my public transport Xmas jumper in chamber.

More details in the Clarion's post below, and whilst I obviously love the pic of me & 3 activists from other parties singing carols, just LOOK at these train ridership growth figures!

Oxford station +20% vs 7% nationally. Love to see it. ❤️🚂

I met a Real Estate developer from Hong Kong at a party in London at the weekend, and was fascinated to learn they’re using AI to go back thru hours of recorded planning meetings to analyse each councillor for the councils they’re investing in. Am fun at parties, obvs.

Potentially good news for the nation's health: woodburning stoves are a huge source of air pollution. They damage the lungs of people inside the house as well, especially those who sleep in upstairs bedrooms who are exposed at high levels overnight.

Really interesting SD article specifically on the East Oxford LTNs, assessing support and opposition from those who live inside and on the boundary roads. It would also be interesting to see how this now looks given the Congestion Charge.

So how exactly are they meant to get to them? Many are placed in areas without accessible transport links. They can't afford to pay for journeys themselves because of how little support they get.
Yet again Labour choosing to pander to Reform than think of consequences.
