my similar take is that when ezra klein says "we need to learn to live with each other," he means he thinks the right wing insurgence is going to win, and he thinks it behooves him and his listeners to change in that direction so as to maintain favor/popularity with the fascist ruling class

Klein is easily explained as one of those guys whose brain is stewed because, by all appearances, he’s been marinating in the right wing noosphere and it’s started influencing his baseline beliefs and values, but he doesn’t realize (or can’t admit) this happened and still thinks of himself otherwise
