Went to watch Everton Women’s Team at Bramley Moore. Took this photo just before the second half, when we were still 1-0 up…
Much happier at half time!

Yes! Even though @rjs2212.bsky.social explained significance by calling me an insignificant bug he’d crush under his shoe… 🤣 (it was lovely working with you really Rob)

I’d have loved to have gone to your session too! Always hard to choose with so many fab sessions
emmaemma53.bsky.social
…and of course a massive thanks to everyone who delivered a session or who I chatted maths (and not maths) with today at MathsConf. Without you it wouldn’t have been anywhere near as enjoyable or thought provoking.
Now to navigate a different kind of problem… 🤣

Having told @teakayb.mathsy.space that people would definitely want to come to his session, I really had to choose it for session 5! Loved hearing about the research Tom and Jason carried out about embedding history into maths lessons. I’m also looking forward to reading Tom’s book #MathsConf39

By the afternoon I’d given up on taking photos, but I still found it really interesting to hear about how @justmaths.bsky.social gets such brilliant results from her pupils. Building belief, clear communication and no excuses underpinning everything #MathsConf39

Always fascinating to get a window on how other people teach specific topics; like this from @jwrightmaths.bsky.social in session 3 #MathsConf39
“How I teach standard form
It’s all about place value
No between 1 and 10, it’s all about significance.
Introduce with number sentences.
Give a chance to talk indices early on.
Can use counting as a back up, but not the primary way so number of zeros errors happen less often”

Loved discussing some excellent maths tasks in @nathanday.bsky.social’s session. Great to have the opportunity to dig into what makes them so good and how they could be adapted. #MathsConf39

Thoroughly enjoyed solving problems in Rob Eastaway’s session. Important to remember that so much mathematical thinking can take place way before getting to a solution. #MathsConf39

I’m staying with my mum and dad so I’m spending some time with them tonight. It’s been a hectic few weeks though so I might be asleep on the sofa quite early anyway! Hope you have a great time celebrating though and I’ll see you in the morning.

It’s MathsConf39 Eve, which means u reckon today must be @teakayb.mathsy.space’s birthday. Happy Birthday! 🥳

After going to the "Exam Insights Summer 2025" CPD session by Pearson Edexcel, it made me think of the below questions. We'll discuss this at the start of my workshop on "Moving 'em up to the next grade!" for #ALevelMaths #MathsConf39 @lasalleed.bsky.social

I needed 3 hints too. I did quite like this clue once I’d got it though.

1001 albums has played a blinder this morning in suggesting Slayer for my commute. Not only am I fired up for the day now, but it was also exactly the perfect length for my drive in. Parked up just as the album finished.
