Helping my parents figure out their health plans for next year. They're unhappy. I get it, their incomes are fixed and it got a bit more expensive, but all their Medicare plans are still cheaper than any insurance I've had for twenty years. I have never felt more "ok boomer" about anything ever.

The power came back on and I made apple crumble bars and dressed Burninator up like a penguin and we went out to pick up Trogdor and then I blinked and it was now

I went down a Christmas light rabbit hole and I've been shown yet again that in America, you can get just about any physical object you can think up, but it'll be about five times more than I want to pay for it

I am making a double batch of millionaire's shortbread.
There are 22 ounces of butter in this.
I used to make it for a restaurant and I think I genuinely forgot how rich it is.
So even if it's ugly, it'll be delicious

Our trash company gave us a food scrap recycler (one of those things that markets itself as an automated composter but they don't actually create compost but I digress)
Ran it for the first time last night, and I've never been so excited about dehydrated organic material.
