OpenAI doesn't report a single number for its climate impacts - not anywhere, in any way, shape or form.

It sounds kind of obvious but the fact that a company with such incredible electricity hunger isn't disclosing basic information about its energy consumption and associated emissions is v bad..

The Coalition's climate policy plan would result in a cool extra gigatonne of GHGs out to 2050, from Australia's power sector alone.

Great analysis by @dylanjmcconnell.bsky.social

We are working in partnership with Vanni Hope in Trincomalee, #SriLanka to support a women's agricultural cooperative in Katakaraichenai.

This project is supporting women from 39 households to access affordable finance, training in sustainable agriculture and financial management. #permaculture

Li-ion batteries, a key waste object when it comes to off-grid #solar products across the Global South.

There is a lack of standardisation in the usage of these batteries, and acute challenges in getting spares. When available, replacements can double the productive lifespan of these products.
A picture of #Solar irrigation in action during the dry season :)

We've been supporting Demera Cooperative in #Malawi to establish, diversify and scale their efforts. With support from, Sopowerful Foundation, they are able to grow a more diverse range of crops more often.
Local artisans completing the construction of a school meal kitchen at Kamwendo Primary School in Ntchisi, #Malawi. This building will be the nerve center or a breakfast program developed through locally grown produce in 2025. Over 300 pupils will benefit from this community-run initiative.

Your daily reminder: the suppliers of gas need to actively pay money to fabricate demand for gas.

They are not angelic, humble passive heroes simply meeting the 'demands of society'. They know their dangerous product isn't needed to provide energy, and they're fighting to stop people ditching it
Just a reminder..... The ENTIRE Domestic gas used in Australia = Gas used by the gas industry to turn gas into LNG for export.

Via @us.theconversation.com: Fast fashion releases dangerous microplastics when laundered or thrown in landfills, contaminates wastewater with heavy metals, and creates literally mountains of waste. Upcycle, buy sustainably, and consider the long-term value -- for you, and the planet.
Fast fashion may seem cheap, but it’s taking a costly toll on the planet − and on millions of young customers
The industry has a reputation for pollution and waste, but it has psychological effects as well.
