We have to say “Enough!” and have the courage to mean it

If 2025 is truly the Year of the Kid, don’t settle for anything less than they deserve. Draw the line with this budget — and hold it.

Defund, discredit, dismantle: The GOP’s quiet war on Wisconsin’s public schools
The rapid rise of school funding referendums makes it all the more clear that Wisconsin lawmakers need to better invest in public funds for public schools in the next state budget.

I asked my partner a question today.

He follows the news. He’s thoughtful, well-informed, kind.

I asked: “With everything you know, are you worried?”
He said: “Yes.”

Guess who just got elected as Chair of the County Chairs Association with @wisdems.bsky.social & whose sole focus will be supporting our existing infrastructure (county parties what’s uppp?!) to organize in every corner of the state between now and Nov 2026?

(Spoiler alert: it’s me)

LFG. 👊🇺🇸🔥

lol the same folks whose main argument was that the Dems are beholden to Soros (pretty unfounded, btw) are twisting themselves in all kinds of knots to excuse the billionaire who is literally attempting to buy off Wisconsinites

The hypocrisy is maddening.

This month’s column!

Forever harping on the power ordinary folks like you and me have in moments like these.

I went to a listening session last night & was scolded for 10 min by my state senator about the “shitty job” public schools are doing as she made her case for vouchers (even though private schools won’t accept kids like my youngest bc they legally aren’t required to have the supports he needs)

You know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking the same old tactics the Democrats use from 60 years ago don't work in the 21st century. All these old fucks ensconced in party leadership positions must be put out to pasture. Primaries across the board.

TBH, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that part of me wants to tune out and turn away from this moment, this trajectory we’re seemingly on.

But I’d be lying as well if I didn’t see in each of us the potential we have to change all of it.

To chart a new path, together.

Huge gratitude for the work @benwikler has done here in Wisconsin - he’s led @WisDems well, raising over $200 million during his time.

We’ve got so much work to do (and I’m still convinced that the grassroots is where we make inroads in WI), so here’s my hope for the next DPW chair:
