On this day in 1984, Atari unveiled the 7800 ProSystem, featuring the MARIA chip that could display 256 colors and handle 100 moving objects simultaneously!

Despite its technical prowess, the console was shelved after Tramiel bought Atari, only to resurface in 1986.

#OnThisDay April 10, 1982, Atari's #PacMan hit arcades, but was so rushed and glitchy that millions of unsold cartridges were later buried in a New Mexico desert—gaming's most legendary burial of the 80s.

Great track! Nice work! Has a very 80s Alphaville feel, if you are familiar with them.
Thanks, Joshua! Huge fans of Alphaville. “Big In Japan” is one of my all time favourites 🙏
#Pitfall on #Atari 2600: The game parents used as impossible bets. With those crocodiles, quicksand and perfect timing needed, your car keys were always safe!

This Atari 2600 classic by David Crane featured 255 unique screens in just 4KB of memory—an incredible technical achievement.

Excitebike nights: when mastering those jumps meant everything! Remember hunching over that Hitachi TV with a Pepsi by your side? The struggle was real, but so was the satisfaction of clearing that perfect run. Who else can still hear that iconic soundtrack?

I love that the original MicroChange Microman toys were based on things you'd find in your bedroom like a Walkman, a microscope or a... pistol...😆
"Tariff Man" - our new song examines the economic impact of recent trade policies that could affect American consumers and international commerce.

Megatron's original G1 toy could transform from robot to Walther P-38 pistol in just 11 steps! This iconic Decepticon leader's alt-mode was so realistic that it prompted toy safety concerns in the 80s. Still cool after all these years! #Transformers #MoreThanMeetsTheEye
This NES classic was so difficult that Konami included the famous "Konami Code" to give players a fighting chance! Despite its brutal challenge, it sold over 1 million copies. Who else spent hours trying to beat that waterfall level? #RetroGaming #Contra #8BitMemories
The Clapper was originally called "The Great American Turn-On" before being rebranded in 1985. It sold over 7 million units & was featured in over 100 TV shows & movies! #RetroTech
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! sold more than 2 million copies in North America by 1988, making it one of only two NES games to reach this milestone that year alongside The Legend of Zelda
Fraggle Rock's finale aired in 1987! Jim Henson's puppet masterpiece gave us 96 episodes of underground magic across 5 seasons (1983-87). Still dance your cares away? #FraggleRock

80s is my music station

I run my own 80s/retro station which gets listened to via Bluetooth and is powered by RadioDJ

I got fed up with commercial 80s stations too repetitive and too many adverts

Dont have any adverts on my home station
