I wanted to punch someone in the throat when she bragged about how many more books she could be writing if they were shorter. Quality over quantity is no longer a thing. I mean, it hasn’t been for a while, but somehow it’s getting worse faster - maybe as fast as this woman is laying books like eggs.

An author post on threads: “My books tend to be long, 80,000-100,000 words, with some up to 150,000 words. If I wrote shorter books - children's, middle grade, novellas, etc. then I could easily have 2-3 times as many books and series out.“ Thread post from the same author: “This year, I have or will publish 16 books. Plus omnibuses, translations, new cover editions, audiobooks, reader magnets up to 30,000 words long, and a few technical books under another name. I've also helped a handful of people publish another dozen or so. Some people *are* very prolific.”
