We are proud to see our city setting the standard for the rest of our state. Our community relies not just on roads, but pedestrian & cycling infrastructure to reach their jobs & schools safely.

That's why we believe the East Bay Bike Path should be managed as essential transit infrastructure. 1/2

We are horrified and saddened by the shooting at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket. We believe every community member, every child has a right to be safe in their daily lives. 💔

We believe in accessible streets, where smart investments like bike lanes & sidewalks create a safer, more connected community for everyone. We aren't just dreaming of this, we are actively advocating for it. 1/2

The cuts made to RIPTA go beyond a line item in the budget. Behind every cut & reduction in service is an affected community member.

Their stories matter. We encourage you to watch Bus Cuts. Special thanks to @pvdstreets.bsky.social for sharing this short film.

EPiC members attended the City Council meeting tonight to learn more about the proposed Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. We’re feeling inspired by the mix of practical short-term recommendations and long-term goals that will make our streets safer for all road users. (1/3)

What is Rhode Island doing right to combat the housing shortage? Turns out, a lot. Read Neighbors Welcome! RI President Claudia Wack’s encouraging op-ed in the Boston Globe. @globeopinion.bsky.social

Rhode Island made it easier to build new homes. It’s working. - The Boston Globe
Building new homes is a slow process. Many of the laws passed by the General Assembly since 2021 are just beginning to bear fruit, writes one leader in housing advocacy.

Well done Providence General Assembly for getting this to Mayor Smiley!

We would love to see East Providence take a similar step to protect residents on city property.
Providence Mayor Smiley signs Executive Order prohibiting the use of city property for civil immigration enforcement activities

"With this executive order, we are making clear that city property will be used to serve our community, not to carry out civil immigration enforcement," said the Mayor.

EPiC was proud to sign on to this letter to Rhode Island’s Washington delegation calling them to more vocally stand up in the federal legislature to end ICE violence.

We let them know their constituents will support them to push for greater restrictions on ICE and for cutting funding.
Members from nearly three dozen community groups representing tens of thousands of Rhode Islanders walked into the offices of the state’s Congressional delegation yesterday bearing letters demanding that the congressmen step up their opposition to ICE & CBP.

Our city is filled with these unregulated surveillance cameras! We strongly encourage our members to join @riaclu.bsky.social for this important webinar.
Have you seen the “automated license plate reader” cameras (aka ALPRs) being installed across RI? Spoiler: They can do more than just read license plates, and they're basically unregulated.

Register for our webinar on Monday, Feb. 9, at 6pm to learn more about privacy + this technology ⬇️

"To build a strong city, we need to massacre the red tape, starting with ending mandatory parking minimums. It’s time to prioritize homes over subsidized asphalt. ✂️📜"
@jimpimentel.bsky.social
We need more housing, but this project is a perfect example of why our zoning codes are broken. To play by the current rules without seeking a variance, the majority of this valuable land has to be used for a parking lot instead of people. 🚗🏘️ 1/3
