This is really a shame. The building is DESIGNED to be a thoroughfare, with public spaces. It’s been broken and cheapened and made hostile to the people who own it.
This makes me sad. There was a time not that long ago when City Hall was truly a people place. Lots of activities and events for all. I remember during my time there a tourist remarking how open the building was unlike the city they lived in. www.ctvnews.ca/ottawa/artic...

Not to be that guy, but we have made-in-ON solutions to this: facilities in thunderbay made buses, as did others. It would take time, sure, but why not invest and begin making them here again? www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Commuting by bicycle in Belgium pays off as employees earn compensation for every km they ride. 1 in 6 employees commute by bike and get a bicycle allowance of €0.28/km. People cycling to work in 2024 earned an average of around €460 net per year (some as high as €810), up 20% over the past year.
