Riley Mulherkar, Rafiq Bhatia and Ian Chang (left to right) took full advantage of the sound system last night at Hope Center for the Arts in Springfield with a performance that was visceral, immersive and, in its way, meditative. Very cool show.
A man on trumpet stands next to a man seated playing a Telecaster-style guitar. To their left, a third man plays a drum kit. They are onstage, lit by moody blue and purple lights.

Don't strain yourself, Buddy -- Mussolini never won the Nobel, either

Rep. Buddy Carter: "Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. That's why I'm introducing a resolution today that will honor him with the Nobel Peace Prize."

(It doesn't work like that lol)

This week in Freak Scene, Northampton musician Norma Jean Haynes lost her father and was diagnosed with cancer this year, so her new album as Norma Dream has a redemptive quality that she couldn't have planned for. Plus, free tickets for Rafiq Bhatia!

The self-righteous replies about how this is clearly wrong are hilarious. "HEY DICTIONARY HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?"

Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”

Felt like I had chills all night, and woke up feeling hungover, which is par for Moderna for me. But neither the vaccine nor the acetaminophen seems to have given me autism, for fifth decade running in the latter case. So that's a win?

Anytime I get some pitch about "one of the most influential and important new shoegaze bands," I think of the sticker @golddust.bandcamp.com gave me that reads, "I have no idea what shoegaze is, and it's way too late to ask"

Pharmacist who did my covid jab today reminded me that Tylenol is recommended over ibuprofen for arm soreness. I joked, "I guess I won't get autism," and she laughed and said, "I haven't given that to anyone yet"

Tom Waits just shared a sad and beautiful new version of “Tom Traubert's Blues (Four Sheets To The Wind In Copenhagen).”

Walking downtown this morning, saw a guy driving a cybertruck with a captain's hat on the dash, confirming every stereotype about cybertruck drivers, and OH a woman near Smith talking at length to companions about the butter from Trader Joe's that she put on her toast. Multitudes!

Just FJ, which seems like a missed opportunity. Want to come see them with me in Hartford, just in case they've combined "Faithfully" and "I Want to Know What Love Is?"

It kind of makes sense to have just one band paying tribute to Journey AND Foreigner in the same show

I keep getting stuck on what happens to those people when the regime falls. They would rightly be pariahs, but are there too many of them? Are they imprisoned? Deprogrammed? Allowed to simply rejoin society like so many Gestapo agents did after WWII?
