Oh interesting! I could shift when I take mine to right after my morning writing session. See if that makes a difference.

I take a daily aspirin and I think a few of my other meds are anti-inflammatory. This all got a lot worse after a concussion several months ago that I haven’t fully recovered from. I’ve got one of those chemo ice cap things that seems to help cool the brain down, otherwise tons of rest.

This and all the replies are so validating. I keep trying to write but it gives me a stupid fever and knocks me out for days! I’m now experimenting with no more than 20 minutes a day of writing. Can I write anything decent or timely in such a small increment? Who knows! Gotta try anyway!

You simply cannot do as bad a job by accident as these ppl do on purpose

Start an advocacy campaign, run for something-- you have something they don't

The child of the shooter who attacked my faith community on Sunday is a victim too. He has medically complex, expensive needs and has lost his father. Please help me #DoSomething and raise funds to help him. I am grieving, but we can still make one thing less bad.

A few days out from #UNGA80, I wanted to reflect on the session we took part in and the media responses since. Mount Sinai was one of the 150 organizations that signed the global pledge to advocate for healthy indoor air. The event itself featured four panels of speakers who

I am so sorry, Ezra. Thank you for the energy you spent articulating this so well. And thanks for the light you spread here.

This whole thread is so good and relatable. The lack of support, the incredible community of sufferers, the radical reorienting of life and purpose, the incredible suffering at the mild/privileged end of the spectrum and what that implies for the very severe/marginalized end of the spectrum.

The thing about all of this as a ND person and as a person with an infection-associated chronic illness: all of this feels like a bad doctor's visit where the clinician swears that the most important thing is that you as the patient "feel heard"

It's not. It's that the patient BE HELPED.

Jimmy Kimmel was taken off the air after our government threatened a private company with retaliation, marking a dark moment for free speech in our nation.

More than 400 artists across our nation signed on to say: We refuse to be silenced by those in power.
We the people must never accept government threats to our freedom of speech. Efforts by leaders to pressure artists, journalists, and companies with retaliation for their speech strike at the heart of what it means to live in a free country.

Last week, Jimmy Kimmel was taken off the air after the government threatened a private company with retaliation, marking a dark moment for freedom of speech in our nation. In an attempt to silence its critics, our government has resorted to threatening the livelihoods of journalists, talk show hosts, artists, creatives, and entertainers across the board. This runs counter to the values our nation was built upon, and our Constitution guarantees.

We know this moment is bigger than us and our industry. Teachers, government employees, law firms, researchers, universities, students and so many more are also facing direct attacks on their freedom of expression.

Regardless of our political affiliation, or whether we engage in politics or not, we all love our country. We also share the belief that our voices should never be silenced by those in power – because if it happens to one of us, it happens to all of us.

This is the moment to defend free speech across our nation. We encourage all Americans to join us, along with the ACLU, in the fight to defend and preserve our constitutionally protected rights. A graphic listing the names of the more than 400 signers of the ACLU's letter condemning the federal government's retaliation against Jimmy Kimmel. We called Disney+ last night and cancelled our Disney/Hulu/ESPN bundle. I’m a disabled stay-at-home-mom of twin 3-year olds. To say we watched a lot of Mickey Mouse Funhouse, Clubhouse, and Bluey would be an understatement. If even we are cancelling, you know they’re feeling it. #BoycottDisney

RFK Jr, who is causing unprecedented damage, is deeply unpopular with the public.

Democrats absolutely need to demand his firing as a basic minimum for supporting any effort to fund the government.

I’m in a ton of pain right now because we just up and drove 4 hours to South Carolina to get our kids vaccinated against covid because Kennedy made it impossible to protect our family in Georgia. And now this??? How much more is he going to hurt our family this week?

I am so sorry this happened to you, Whitney! That’s awful. Thank you for so clearly articulating the damage this kind of “help” does.

it's so funny to see America's health insurance companies be like "look. If there's one thing we love it's denying you care. but we ran the numbers - and we cannot BELIEVE we're saying this - and it's cheaper for us to just pay for the vaccines than deal with you going to the ER."
vinguptamd.bsky.social
Regardless of the disgraceful nonsense we will likely hear from this administration in the coming days on vaccine “recommendations,” Americas healthcare insurers issued a joint statement tonight saying coverage for Covid and flu shots will remain unchanged from prior years.

Speaks for itself.

I have no idea how I got a copy so much earlier than all my friends. It arrived from bookshop.org maybe a week or two ago? I love how you can pace your way through the recipes. I have a picky husband and 2 picky toddlers and every recipe has been a hit. I’ll definitely do a review!

Ah! You are on Bluesky! Then let me tell you we also love the pots de creme, the Pasadena chicken salad, the tuna steak with baby bok choy salad, the bison meatloaf, the cauliflower mash, the blueberry smoothie, and the coconut yogurt with blueberry compote. My picky family loves all of it!

I was like 5 hours into an emotional breakdown when i had my first bite of the strawberry pie from @rachelriggs.bsky.social cookbook In Good Health, and my goodness! I have never been so fully transported by a bite of food. What a bright, sunny dessert! The whole family is raving.

I’m not sure if the state health department owns this, but in case they do - put IACCs on the boards for licensure. Require IACC continuing education for maintaining licensure. We’ll never get sufficient medical care until medical education is required.
erinmarilee.bsky.social
A phrase I’ve seen work well in medical education is that you can still “reduce suffering”. Providers need to know about pacing, hydration, compression, and off label treatments to reduce suffering. They can’t take away the suffering but there’s a good chance they can reduce suffering.
