Climate.gov, a major US government website supporting public education on climate science, will likely shut down after almost all of its staff were fired. What would be worse is if the website were co-opted to publish climate denial content.

We found that there was still an association with sea ice, but the snow petrels also ventured into waters with little or no sea ice. They reached foraging distances of 400km from the colonies during chick rearing, an amazing feat for small bird!

What do sea-ice associated seabirds do during a season with little sea ice? Results from GPS tracking on snow petrels is now published, led by @elliehonan.bsky.social funded by @erc.europa.eu @leverhulme.ac.uk details here: www.antsie.webspace.durham.ac.uk/2025/06/06/snow-petrel-tracking/ 🧪🐙

Tiny animals with a huge impact.... total weight of krill in the world exceeds the total weight of humans or cows... and they play vital roles in ecosystems and climate.

We need to know what fishing and climate change are doing to them! 🌊🧪🥼❄️
