My opinions are my own.

In case it was not abundantly clear, I am firmly in support of:

democracy
marriage equality
(all) gender equality
racial equality
a Free Palestine
workers' rights
labor unions
gun control
bodily autonomy
when textbooks recount this period of American history do you think they'll refer to this particular moment as a Turning Point?

i'll see myself out

I know that people feel burnt out and that it’s exhausting to deal with the massive amount of bullshit thrown at us daily, but people cannot just check out. There is a literal concentration camp in Florida. We have to be loud about how unacceptable this is, not just stick out heads in the sand.

hey congressional republicans, here's a wild idea: instead of debating whether to vote with 47 or AK-47 why not try voting with, idk, YOUR CONSTITUENTS

Making it harder for federal workers to do their jobs is the exact opposite of “efficiency.”

If they didn’t even accomplish that, what was the point of DOGE - other than to let Elon make himself even richer, of course?
DOGE vowed to make government more ‘efficient’ — but it’s doing the opposite
New procedures and requirements — some implemented in the name of improving operations — are slowing down federal agencies.

In New York, ICE detained a busload of farmworkers that were actively involved in a union drive.

In Washington state, ICE dragged a farmworkers’ rights activist and leader out of his car to detain him.

Be warned: attacking unions is a hallmark of fascism.

@booker.senate.gov 's inspirational act of patriotism today is a reminder -- and a call to arms -- that there is always, always, always something we can do. Even if it's small. Even if people ask, "What's the point?"

We MUST do what we can, where we are, with what we have. Over and over again.

Shuttering the FMCS means longer and drawn-out contract negotiations; delays in implementing new union contracts that raise wages and improve benefits; and disruption to the economy from strikes and lockouts.

We’ll see the administration in court.

NEW from @epi.org:

South Carolina, the state with the lowest % of workers in a union, has...

🔴13.9% living below the poverty line.
🔴The 10th highest child poverty rate.
🔴78% without paid family and medical leave

Unions matter for everyone.
The State of Working South Carolina
A long history of policies designed to maintain racial hierarchies and stack the deck against workers means low wages and poor working conditions for many South Carolinians.

This is a statistic that I have been posting about for years. So many people do not know that homicide by an intimate partner has been 1 of the Top 2 reasons for pregnant persons deaths for years, and it’s not garnered the attention it deserves. I first found it on an FBI database, not the CDC or NIH.

Working people around the country count on equal justice and fair decision-making from an independent NLRB—and today, because of Wilcox’s commitment to the mission of the NLRB and her refusal to stand by as Trump illegally removed her from the board, the NLRB can get back to work.

If we are angry at each other, we won't look up to see how big corporations and billionaires have rigged markets and siphoned off most of the economy's gains.
