Time for some snapshot reviews of each of this year's #JESC2025 entries (or at least as many of them as I can be bothered to do)!

It goes without saying that these being kids, the reviews will remain largely positive and constructive.

A couple of months ago I picked up Rev. Coles' book 'A Murder Before Evensong'. Today I found out Five (and for context, the only thing I watch on there is ACG&S) are running a drama series on it. A sign from above, perhaps? 😆🤔

It's quite easy on TV, but mobile yh, it's a bit of a faff.

If it's Tuesday, it's news day!

Ah yeah, they're rolling out a new UI across all devices over the coming weeks.
eschayden.bsky.social
Yeah, apparently it was them.

Can't remember the last time I saw a drama that dealt with misogyny and abuse & harassment against women so head on. Good on Sally Wainwright! #RiotWomen

I know a lot of people are disappointed today, and that's totally understandable, but it's worth bearing in mind that there is still a possibility Israel won't participate. The decision has not been cancelled, just put back to the original date.

At least it won't clash with Montesong

🇦🇱 Creative director Elhaida Dani has revealed new details of the 64th Festivali i Këngës:

📅 The festival will be held from 17 to 20 December 2025.

🏆 The winner will be determined by 50% jury, 25% Albanian televote, and 25% worldwide online vote.

The headline is misleading - 'Decision on Israel's Eurovision Participation Postponed' would be more informative.
eschayden.bsky.social
It's still not definite Israel will participate. A decision will still be made, but in December rather than November.
eschayden.bsky.social
The headline doesn't give the whole picture. The decision has just been pushed back to December, when they were originally going to do it, before the November vote was planned. So it's still possible Israel won't be in Eurovision next year.

Problem with the former is that it's the broadcaster participating, not the government, so a ban would have to be on some other grounds - voting integrity, disrepute to contest etc.

And 🇵🇸 can't participate because they don't have a broadcaster in the EBU.

And in the videos too haha

Submissions up a whopping 22% on last year! 😆

International fans can vote too. Tyvm 😘

🇲🇪 RTCG further revealed in their morning show that:

🔸 37 valid submissions were received this year.
🔹 Songs will be released in early December.
🔸 International fans will be able to vote during the final, with the televoting proceeds going to the Budi Human Foundation.

Dolce Hera on repeat, and the Queen of Disco herself - Tina Dzankić. 😃

🇲🇪 RTCG have announced the artists and titles of the 15 entries participating in Montesong 2025 on their breakfast show Dobro jutro Crna Goro.

The lineup includes #Eurovision 2009 representative Andrea Demirović, Montesong 2024 third-placer Baryak and fan favourite Dolce Hera.

A lot of ppl reckon Estonia, but I'm not so sure. EBU will want a broadcaster that has the experience and resources (even with the €40m from 🇦🇹) to turn it around in a few months. So probably one of the Big 5, or Sweden.

@tldrnews.bsky.social @tldrjack.bsky.social loving the new YT channel icons 😍 very youthful and modern

Either way, ORF pulling out at this stage would be a financial, logistical and legal nightmare. So they and the government would probably have a strop about it, huff and puff for a few weeks, but in the end just suck it up.
eschayden.bsky.social
🇦🇹 media has reported that the gov is pressuring ORF to do so, but then a New York Times reported claimed it was nonsense (tho the statement they provided from the Chancellor's office was didn't really confirm or deny).

If it's any consolation, I think you can still be fertile with just one.

Maybe I'm just being my glass half full self to a fault, but I'm not losing hope in our contest just yet. 😊

And if 🇮🇱 are allowed to stay, voting reform is coming. Without knowing what, who knows whether it'd help to prevent the kind of warped results we've seen over the past 2 years. The only indicator we have is that 🇸🇲 threatened to storm out over the voting, and they're apparently satisfied.

Plus, this extra month allows more time to see if the peace deal progresses. There'll be no rushed decision by broadcasters due to a fresh ceasefire. They'll have longer to see how the parties keep to it or not (and let's be real, the chances of it holding are slim).
