The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

This is so very true. The extreme cost of in season fruits and vegetables is due more to over pricing by corporate grocers than by the true cost of growing and delivery.

The $200 is nice, but let's get the extremely high price of food, utilities, housing, and healthcare down. Otherwise, an extra $200 month is the same as a drop in the ocean. There are so many examples of extortion, so much unnecessary greed.

More to learn about our history. Italian immigrants were discriminated against, as were the Irish. Then, there are the native Americans, Jewish, Chinese, and Indian. Last but not least, women. Anyone who was different in culture and religion and wasn't an original white colonist.

These changes would fall disproportionately on some of Trump’s most loyal supporters in red states. Most affected would be 50- to 60-year-olds without a high school or college education who have, for decades, toiled in physically grueling jobs, including coal mining, logging, and factory and construction work. The five states where the highest proportions of people rely on these benefits are West Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Alabama. Unlike New York, California and a few others, these states do not have their own disability insurance programs for workers to turn to amid federal cuts.

Just disgusting, the way they think they can treat HUMAN BEINGS. My sister works for a Federal Judge and they just got this class action lawsuit this morning on behalf of the detainees in Broadview, IL.

The federal lawsuit says detained people are being denied water, food, medical care and hygiene: "They treated us like animals, or worse than animals, because no one treats their pets like that."

Utah has just approved a 1,300-person “mega camp” for homeless individuals,This camp lacks transportation, features locked units, and even imposes forced labor.

They refer to this facility as “work-conditioned housing,” but we simply call it what it is: modern-day internment.

The nazi concentration camps were 1st known as labor camps for the homeless, the less desirable, the jews. They were used as slave labor for factories etc. Shot, killed when they couldn't work. Business men faced the Nuremberg trials after the war for this.

There should be something in the constitution that states Mike Johnson can be held accountable for not doing his job. How can he be allowed to keep the people's representatives from doing the work of the people. Maybe states need to withhold federal monies, seeing as there's no representation.
