A poster with all the whale and dolphin species found around Andenes, Norway. It was a nice challenge depicting the animals in a dynamic way, keeping the scale of each whale correct.
Drawings are made in Copic Marker and colored pencil

I just love painting bird of prey. Their power, intensity and sleek beauty are too hard to resist. Here are some watercolor paintings of a few species I made, the goshawk, the gyrfalcon and the peregrine falcon.

Rocks and Feathers
This painting shows a group of Svalbard Ptarmigan in a snowy landscape, demonstrating their perfect camouflage. I witnessed these birds when I was visiting Svalbard last time. They are bigger and less shy than their mainland relatives.

Hare Stare
Hares have such an elusive aura about them, being a bit nervous and yet quite powerfull and elegant. They are free spirited souls, keeping them in captivity often leads to their death due to stress. The one in this painting is wild and free. 😊

Magpies are another animal I have used in my art a lot. I love these tuxedo clad opportunists, they are quite striking in sunlight with shades of blues, greens and purples on their seemingly black feathers. Here is a colloection of magpie art made throughout the years.

My all time favorite garden bird, the long-tailed tit. They are just such cute little fluffballs, their beaks so tiny it´s almost ridiculous. Had to paint these little critters in my Steamline Journal!

Working on with my series of northern Norwegian animals. Here are some studies of the Little Auk, done in my Steamline Journal. I love these plump, little birds, with their short stubby beaks and weird little eye patches. :)
