I find it really disheartening that here in the Uk you can not see the same midwife throughout your pregnancy.

I think is something that needs to be improved. The lack of continuity of care is important for both patients and clinicians.
Continuity of care is associated with improved outcomes and a positive experience of maternity 🍼

In 2024, 61% of Maternity Survey respondents saw the same midwife at most or every antenatal check-up. That's up from 37% in 2019.

That’s what they are doing already by pushing staff to lower paid positions with experience, adding to the domestic students bearing all the costs - so not cost effective for those who are investing if they stay in the NHS - poor long term strategy from Governments - but nobody seems to care!
It’s cheaper to recruit from abroad than train and recruit your own.
