My guess on his choice: self-preservation first, then a last minute heel-face turn at the climax to the self-sacrificing decision, suffering horrible consequences but underscoring the show's premise that anyone can choose to do the right thing, no matter how deep a hole they've dug themselves.

My hopes for Alastor this season: getting utterly humbled and being forced to figure out how to rely on others opens him up to becoming the Vegeta - in order to make it really HURT when his Dealmaker imposes a decision between selfishness and sacrifice in season 3, and we find out which he chooses.

Like I’m sure they see the signs of his superior attitude

I’ve speculated in the past that Alastor LET Vox win their last fight for whatever reason, and Amir saying that Alastor thought he was invincible before his fight with Adam is really making me believe that even more🤷🏽‍♀️

of it (again from Alastor’s perspective). He’s an absentee king and father and just uses his powers to show off. Imo, Alastor isn’t just threatened by him, he’s jealous and angry with him. He wants what Lucifer has, security, freedom, power, possibly a family, and he’s mad Lucifer seems to take it—

I think Alastor is the type to feel a deep passion for what he loves (music, the occult, murder) and as a radio host—he must be a keen observer of the skills needed
