Despite my disappointment that I'm not your editor on this one here's my $.02: Upbeat often backfires... but bleak determinism tends to undermine curiosity. Maybe darkness *is falling* to leave the door open just a crack? Or it could be more subjective, less declarative. It's a tough one.

Yoram Hazony is Surprised by Blatant Antisemitism in the MAGA Coalition — But Antisemitism is Second Nature for Nationalists
On November 20, Israeli nationalist Yoram Hazony sat down for an interview with conservative New York Times columnist Ross Douthat to offer an explanation for the rise of antisemitism on the MAGA Righ...

The self-appointed arbiters at the NYT & WaPo have such shriveled hearts they can scarcely believe anyone truly cares about the greater good. It's also why they soft-pedal monstrous right-wingers: they see that hatred as honest vs the Left's justice, which they view as mere performative sanctimony.

Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

Wait, delusional bigots want to leave NYC? Damn... the city's already a better place to live and he hasn't even taken office yet. Excellent work sir.
"The more-than-300 comments responding to that anonymous post are full of mothers looking for property in New Jersey or Florida, predicting that Mamdani’s promise to make buses free will lead criminals to rape and kill innocent passengers."

who is Pam Keith? According to her timeline TikTok is her primary source for an alarming number of claims. Doesn't necessarily mean they're wrong and I don't mean to sound naive, but that's incredibly irresponsible.

Tesla’s profit fell 37% in the third quarter. It's been in the process of laying off 14,000 workers. It had more cars impacted by recalls than any other brand in 2024.

Yet Elon Musk just got a pay package worth $1 trillion.

American capitalism is off the rails.

Watch with the sound off and not only do you appreciate the looks on Mika Brzezinski's face (!!) but it's so clear what a disingenuous liar Jonathan Greenblatt is.

Side note: I hope the @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social admin's first act is for the number 765,000 to henceforth be referred to as "a New York Post million."

Another NYJewish vote for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social … as far as I can recall it’s the most positive and hopeful I’ve felt since my very first vote in 1989.

Yes, the Right is shamelessly promoting a fake outrage, but how are FL gov Ron DeSantis and Utah Sen Mike Lee still taken seriously by corporate media? The fact that they can do things like this and be treated as serious people by CNN and the NYTimes is a very real and very big problem.

The US right slowly realizing there’s always someone further to the right than they are (who is probably armed, angry, and losing touch with reality with each passing hour guzzling right wing media and message boards).
EARHARDT: We have radicals on the right as well. How do we fix this country?

TRUMP: I'll tell you something that's gonna get me in trouble but I couldn't care less. The radicals on the right oftentimes are radical because they don't want to see crime. The radicals on the left are the problem.

I know jumping to politically-advantageous conclusions is just what we do now, but its still striking how many right wing folks have immediately jumped to "violent leftist," as if there hasn't been a sustained, decadelong hate campaign against Charlie Kirk from those to his right.

Their obnoxiousness is certainly Trumpy, but the "get me the smelling salts" indignity is due to legacy media's enabling of these silly & deeply damaging non-response responses. Every admin, corporation, & greasy celeb has been allowed to just obfuscate in the name of a brain-dead "objectivity."

This steep falloff in support, just five months in, is a sign of some catastrophic failings in our media and education systems.

Not quite. What the nation's most Jewish city choosing Mamdani *actually* means is that we can retire faded and false accusations of antisemitism in NYC.
Well, at least we can retire that faded and false line, "antisemitism has no place in New York City."

If Karol believes the central issue is that readers aren't being directly told that Trump is bad he's either deliberately misrepresenting the argument or too dumb to have access to a keyboard. My money's on the former, but I'm a pretty poor gambler...
