Every bit of press this receives makes me happy and sad in equal measure.

And, also, shout out to baseball. Some of my favorite arguments with Steve were about dumb baseball minutiae. Mounting side bets that were never collected. Declarative statements of crap or not crap. It really is the best.

Hey, maybe you remember my old website swanfungus.com ? I was thinking about deleting it. All 18+ years worth of blog archives. You can read more about it and share your thoughts on my Substack, should you feel inclined.

My mother sent me this on Instagram assuming I would immediately fixate on buying a bottle of Mets wine...but instead I've spent the better part of ten minutes confused and bewildered by the comment.

New Substack post! It's been a year in the making, but my interview with @fritschner.bsky.social is finally ready for public consumption.

This is my favorite installment in the series yet. Check it out, and let Aaron know how much you appreciate his responses. He's one of the good ones.

Working on my annual "Top 10 Albums Of [Year]...So Far" list, and I'm shocked that it's already June and I only have 28 potential records to consider.

Please leave suggestions and recommendations below.

Oh, sure. When I do it (blog.wfmu.org/freeform/200...) it's a huge scandal, but when Thom Yorke (www.avclub.com/thom-yorke-t...) does it over a decade after me suddenly it's the good kind of newsworthy?! I call bullshit.

From Warsaw in Brooklyn (5/21/02) until the Bellwether in LA (4/29/25). 12 shows in 23 years across 4 states, and I finally got a “My Father My King” encore. Thank you @mogwai.scot
April 30, 2025 at 6:30 AM
@mogwai.scot's encore last night in SF was "My Father My King," so it is unlikely to be played tonight here in LA. My streak of not hearing it in person looks likely to continue into my 24th year (!!!) seeing them in concert.

New FREE Substack post! It's baseball season, so I discuss being a Mets fan and record collector.

Bonus: You can listen to an old acetate I found featuring a 10-year-old interviewing Don Drysdale, Maury Wills, Vin Scully, and others at Dodgers' Spring Training in March of 1965.

Dear @plasmatron.bsky.social,

April 29th will be my...10th or 12th time seeing you live. Sure, shouting "Don't Do It!" during "Like Herod" for almost 25 years from NY to Chicago to Vegas to LA has been fun, but I'd rather finally hear "My Father, My King" live. Just letting you know. Ok thanks bye!
