Following from our announcement that Quindrie Press will be closing at the end of 2026, I want to make people aware that in Spring 2026 we will be opening a one-off comic fund for UK creators. More details will be released next year.

Quindrie Comic Fund As part of Quindrie Press closing down, we will be opening the Quindrie Comic Fund in Spring 2026. This fund will be open to comic creators across the UK, with priority given to Scottish creators, to go towards their creative practice. The totalpot will be £3,000 to be split between successful applicants. Applications will be reviewed by Eve Greenwood, Hari Conner, and Nyla Ahmad. More details will be released when applications open in Spring 2026. If you’d like to hear when applications open, follow Quindrie Press on Bluesky or Instagram, or sign up to the newsletter. If you would like to donate to the fund to increase the pot, please contact Eve at quindriepress@gmail.com. We will be taking donations starting in April 2026.

Some illustrations I worked on recently for carved in stone by @stoutstoat.co.uk. Loved working on this project!
A group of Picts travelling through the Scottish landscape, making use of dirt paths, old roman roads, bridges and ferries. A group of Picts travelling together (possibly a family? up to you!) including a young man with a spear, a woman dressed in furs, a young girl and a man who has been injured in battle or an accident and lost his right arm. The same group of Picts bartering with a settlement of charcoal burners for a place to stay overnight. Our Picts again, but this time they are camping with a tent. The young man stands watch while the woman cooks and the other two keep themselves entertained.

in 2026 i would love to see cartoonists collectively let go of the resentment that "comics take years to make and moments to read." 🙏 the contrast in time creating vs time experiencing is true of all art. why complain that someone read your work? Chill out and enjoy meeting a reader on the page.
