ICYMI: At an EPW hearing today, @markey.senate.gov shared our memo on how a future administration could (and should) use the Trump administration's permitting tactics to block fossil fuel development, not clean energy.
Seems pretty simple... if this President can unilaterally block renewable infrastructure, a future President could do the same for fossil fuel projects.

Winter storms shouldn’t mean sky-high power bills and blackout risks.

PJM’s failure to prioritize the build-out of reliable, clean energy has already hit families with double-digit bill increases this year—and now is putting lives at risk. www.reuters.com/business/ene...

Winterstorm Fern caused massive power outages for over a million Americans … but not for everyone. They were fine. Watch to see who stayed warm and safe.

Capture-and-kill tactics. Patent hoarding. Hacking journalists. According to MI AG Dana Nessel’s new lawsuit, these are some of the “cartel”-style tactics Big Oil has used to block clean energy and send costs for Michigan families sky-high. Thanks to @miattygen.bsky.social for fighting back 💪

Let’s be clear: this wasn’t a failure to deliver. When faced with a choice between actions that could lower costs for working families or enriching himself and his wealthy allies, Trump chose the latter. Every time. That choice defines his presidency.

@mikiesherrill.bsky.social said she’d take on PJM if elected. Today, she’s doing exactly that.

Evergreen: Governor Sherrill Delivers With Immediate Action to Reduce Energy Bills
It is refreshing to see a Governor not only correctly diagnose what’s wrong with our energy system, but also demonstrate the clear political will to fix it.

"RGGI generated hundreds of millions of dollars for VA — dollars that went directly to flood mitigation, energy efficiency programs, and lowering bills for families who need help most."

Thank you, @abigailspanberger.com for knowing RGGI delivers cost-savings to working Virginians.
Governor Spanberger just announced she is rejoining RGGI. 🎉🏞️

Trump's EPA says it will stop calculating the public health value of air pollution regulations, instead solely focusing on costs to Big Business.

Like the rest of his deregulatory agenda, it's a gift for corporate donors and a disaster for the rest of us.

CT and RI families are already paying some of the highest electricity prices in the country. It made no sense to ban them from accessing the cheap, clean energy resources just off their coastline.
January 13, 2026 at 2:06 PM
Wisconsin Republicans just released a data center bill that would block access to cheaper, faster clean power. Why limit the options that would protect consumers from rising costs, unless you don’t actually care about affordability?

How can states keep making progress on sustainable transportation—even as the Trump admin rolls back climate action? Check out the latest episode of @volts.wtf and hear Evergreen’s senior transportation policy lead Liya Recthman dive into the tools and strategies at states' disposal.
Today on Volts: sustainable transportation policy is under comprehensive attack by the federal government, but states can soften the blow. Specifically, governors have a little-understood authority to transfer existing federal funds to EV charging, bike lanes, & transit. But time is running out!

The same tech giants that are forcing you and me to pay to power their data centers through our electric bill apparently have no problem paying for Donald Trump to tear down parts of the White House so he can build a $300 million ballroom for himself.
