Transit Enthusiast, Photographer, Urban Planning student, and B/Vlogger documenting the state of public transportation while pushing it to its limits.

As always, all opinions are my own.
it is vitally important to actually know what's in an article you post before using it as a gotcha. (is dropping citations too much for a twitter argument?)

because of a scheduling mishap, I have to attend a doctor’s appointment in my hometown in order to restock some meds I need, and of course that involves walking to Lincoln Creek because the first 80X doesn’t connect to anything from my neck of the woods. let’s see what other shenanigans I get into!

this morning I find that the Ethernet cable i got 4 days ago was chewed through by that very same rabbit. it’s official - that rabbit hates my guts.

started a new save on subway builder in seattle and i discovered that they sunk mercer island. im not sure if this is a bug or a revolutionary new feature that makes it easier to build subways.

I've been working on a total rewrite of Pantograph.

I expect to ship by the end of the year, but I wrote up some (mostly technical) details as a preview: www.goroundtrip.co/posts/2025/n...
Coming Soon: An All-New Pantograph
Pantograph is being rebuilt from the ground up.

because Pierce has a fleet shortage on the Sound Transit side, ST decided to transfer two LFRs that were surplus from CT. however, this LFR is in PT’s dead/retired line. this is because CT subcontracts its ST ops, and the op barely maintained them and ran them ragged. PT is now stuck with rehab duty

Someone made this observation on Twitter re: Bluesky that I think is quite accurate, and is why I use both sites; I stay on Twitter because there’s nowhere else like it, both /pos and /neg; but Bluesky is where I actually post more since sometimes I need to “head back to the locker room” iyk

hey seattle, maybe it’d be a good idea to put a flight of stairs between this road and this bridge by the northern terminus of the 28 so we don’t have to walk all the way around to the nearest intersections

East Base’s fleet manager decided to do a big funny and deployed RapidRide coaches across a lot of its routes, as well as deploying standard coaches on the B Line. While most were trippers, only doing one or two runs in the morning, there were several that are staying on all-day, like this on rt 255

I rode RapidRide G and the Swift Blue extension to Shoreline before the sun rose on their first days. Unlike my early start that day, the video documenting the journey was fashionably late.

now that’s a unique way to send off your old system. I woulda kept the funeral, but I would have either removed the fire entirely or set fire to a car that’s been stripped for parts

Overlaking (n):

The phenomenon of installing transit hubs or park and rides within close proximity of each other, ultimately causing one to fall into disuse or abandonment in favor of the other.

Being the only transit rider at a transit related press event continues to be incredibly demoralizing when I wish it was embarrassing for the transit agency involved.

Got a tad demoralized by missing a connection that was entirely my fault, so I figured I’d swing by this month’s board meeting since I’ve nothing better or worse to do today
