the thruways cost $19, but they come in later and like to get stuck in traffic, so they were a no-go

the trains to BEL run to Vancouver, BC, so there’s also issues related to that as well (which are too many to get into in one BlueSky reply)

yep, two daily plus two buses. none of them get me down in time for my appointment.

left my apartment in Bellingham at 6:11, arrived in Seattle at 9:34. quite a good showing, if I do say so myself. now to go to the doctor’s office…

Got a decker on the 510 to Seattle. Fun fact: until earlier this year, this was only possible if the 90X was early enough AND if the 510 was late enough due to a NEGATIVE ONE minute connection. Since then, they added this trip to cater for those on the first southbound 80X/90X connection of the day.

Of course, as soon as we pull from Skagit Station, we get met with a highballing unit coal train. At least it has foreign power?

Because Skagit Transit is one of Those Agencies, there’s mixed messaging about the bus leaving Skagit Station 5 or 10 mins after the 80X arrives, the latter of which would give me time to dash to the 7/11 across the street. I decided against it, much to the chagrin of my stomach.

update: they also sank it in the map selection screen. maybe this is how they got the game to work in seattle.

that plus wanting to win votes among UW alumni because of the "I'm one of us!" mentality. also speaking as a husky fan bruce was carried by Michael Jackson (not that one) when he was at Washington before his senior year

i was telling a story to my flatmates. the rabbit we're taking care of started stomping his feet until i stopped. when i commented about this, the rabbit ONCE AGAIN started stomping his feet until i stopped talking once and for all and retreated to my room.

the operator (First Transit, now Transdev) abusing their fleet is also why, despite the fact that most CT deckers have been transferred in-house, very few are currently in service. this is also some of why CT is transitioning to operate fully in-house.

if you want it done right, do it yourself!
