A gorgeous Great Tit for your #PlumeScrolling pleasure. This one, at Brandon Marsh back in January, was waiting to see if I would put any food on the nearby pile of logs. I did.

A Great Tit perched on on a thorny rose stem. The head is black with a large white patch on each cheek, the underparts are yellow, with an irregular black stripe running down the middle, and those parts of the wings that can be seen are green.

#PlumeScrolling Daggerstrike Murderbeak, a Grey Heron I photographed at Forest Farm, Cardiff, back in May. So glad I decided to prioritise #NaturePhotography earlier this year, before my thyroid condition began to limit what I could do! #Birds 🦉 🌿

In this photo, almost all of the Grey Heron can be seen standing in some long grass, with buttercups and other wildflowers - the vegetation is covering most of the bird's long legs however. As the bird's name suggests, the plumage is mainly various shades of grey, but the top of the head is black, they eye is yellow with a black pupil and black rim, and the long, powerful beak is blackish above and an orangey-yellow below.

#FossilFriday with its bizarre skull, the protocetid whale Makaracetus has become my beloved nemesis. It’s extremely hard to reconstruct, but @gohar.bsky.social recently told me that my illustration of it is the most accurate he’s seen, so I must be on the right track. #paleoart #sciart #whale

My initial sketches, transferring the anatomy of different modern animals onto the skull to see what felt plausible.

The reconstruction I settled on, taking cues from moose and camels along with my own previous drawings of other protocetids.

Meet another of my sisters, Penny. Penny is a former feral, TNRed by a local group. One of the fosters fell in love with her beautiful face, and though Penny was a bit old for it, she worked to socialize her. Penny is still very energy, but also the sweetest girl.
