Endocrinology appointment today 👩🏻‍⚕️ for results of blood test following radioidine ☢️ treatment for my thyroid issues in November. The results were what I wanted (normal thyroid function 😀), but not what I expected (because I am still so, so tired 😪). So, another blood test now booked. 🩸

Holly has its very own fungus! Marasmius hudsonii (Holly parachute) yesterday. Sadly, without a macro lens the depth of field is very shallow.

Adding a #OnePlaceWednesday hashtag to this one – and looking forward to seeing more #OnePlaceStudies making use of National Farm Survey documents when they appear online a little later this year!
The National Farm Survey documents are held by The National Archives. The forms and maps are being digitised and will be made available online for free, with the first records due to appear in March this year. The project should be complete by March 2027.

Over the hills and far away - with a sprinkling of snow on the distant slopes. I was standing on the summit of Titterstone Clee for this shot, looking out across the Corvedale towards the Stretton Hills. From the left are Hope Bowdler Hill, Willstone Hill and Caer Caradoc, with Wenlock Edge seen...

Please join me in being *even more* negative about GenAI, its theft of people’s creative output, its planet-trashing effects, the utter garbage it all too often produces, and the obscenely rich a$$holes who hope it will make them even wealthier at our expense.

📢 SKUNK!!!! 📢

It's been ages since we've seen a skunk in the garden but last night we had 2 wandering around. They begin to get more active as mating season approaches. What a magnificent tail, we'll have to call this one Super Swiffer 2.0 😁

The utterly shameless & widely covered "report" out today, claiming net zero will "cost" £9tn is based on:

* Assuming free fossil-fuel energy, free petrol cars, free gas boilers, free gas power plants etc

AND

* Including climate damages in the "cost" of net zero

I kid you not, it is that stupid
🧵A political/media guide to the "truth" about net-zero

1) Add up costs to install & run a net-zero energy system
2) Pretend fossil-fuelled alternatives wld be free
3) Do say "eco zealots are bankrupting us"
4) Don't say "free cars if we scrap net-zero" cos it sounds ridiculous
5) That's it!

Will this Government be the first ever to break the law by missing legally binding nature targets?
