A double rainbow with blue sky for #BlueskyMonday. My wide angle lens couldn't quite get it all so I flipped the camera to portrait and made a #panorama. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #clouds #rainbow #Nikon

This is a black crowned night heron being beautiful against an early morning blue sky, just right for #BlueskyMonday. #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin #herons #birds #birdphotography #Bluesky #photooftheday #photographersonbluesky #nikon #nikonZ8

How about a #blackandwhite #infrared image for #scape day? I think it might fit. This is a local beach in North Florida. The tide was WAY out on this morning which found my favorite old snag high and dry, a rarity. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #clouds #beach #fullspectrum #ir #bnw

It's #scape day! I made this scape on a local beach in North Florida on a glorious early morning. Lots of clouds in the area, making long exposures a ton of fun. #landscape #photograhy #EastCoastKin #beach #longexposure #clouds

One more for the #little theme for today's #BlueSkyArtShow. These tiny mushrooms were probably 2cm tall and 2 to 3mm wide. I used a focus stack of 25 images. #macro #macrophotography #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #mushrooms #fungi #fungifriends

#Small. Yep, I think this gorgeous little green tree frog qualifies. It's today's theme for #BlueSkyArtShow. It was hanging out on my Lady in Red hydrangea, living its best life. #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin #frogs #hylidae #amphibians

The theme is #small for today's #BlueSkyArtShow. I think these beautiful little mushrooms quality. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #mushrooms #fungi #fungifriends #macro

It's #scape day. I'm posting later than I usually do. I was up early and in our local wildlife refuge all morning. This is an #infrared image made at a beach along the coast of North Florida overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #fullspectrum #bnw #blackandwhite

It's #flyday. While this beautiful black crowned night heron wasn't flying, it sure can when it wants to! #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin #birds #herons #portrait

What it means to be human. Sometimes it's unbearable pain. Sometimes it's unbearable elation. Most times, it's in between and we live for another day with hope but not knowing what it may bring. This poem was written by Robert Burns in 1785, providing a connection to our earthly animal companions.

This black crowned night heron was hanging out in early morning light. I photographed a half dozen of them for a good 30 minutes or so before they flew off. I find them so absolutely photogenic. #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin #herons #birds

This sink is out in the middle of the woods of North Florida. Right below where I made this image, it is 80 feet deep. It is a literal window to a vast aquifer of immense importance to life in the southeast US. #conservation #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #forests #fallcolors #environment

I photographed this wax myrtle in the brand new light of day. This tree that did not want to give up after struggling to exist for years. It finally succumbed to the forces of gravity but not before I photographed its essence. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #longexposure #nature #conservation

This little beauty is a juvenile black crowned night heron. When I see them, I wonder how a creature can be so perfect. How can they fit in this world so beautifully? As I photograph it, I whisper to them that I hope they live a long life and Godspeed. #photography #wildlife #birds #EastCoastKin

I very much enjoy the experimental part of photography. This image was made with intentional camera movement, or #ICM. It's a 5 second exposure. During the exposure, I moved the camera slightly upwards. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #trees #fog #icmphotography #photooftheday #MotionBlur

It's #BlueSkyMonday! Even though this is faux color from an #infrared image edit, it's still blue. This image was made on a good cloud day at our local wildlife refuge with a full spectrum conversion at 720nm. #photography #landscape #fullspectrum #ir #EastCoastKin #clouds #reflections

It's been a while since I've posted a nice and wide multi-image #panorama. It's a powerful way to get a lot more of a scene into one image. Especially salt marsh vistas along our coast in North #Florida. I've shot this scene many times. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #clouds #Bluesky
November 16, 2025 at 11:35 AM
I've posted similar images for #Stunday. I stood in knee deep water with a couple friends and opened the shutter many times for somewhere between 15 and 30 seconds hoping to catch oak leaves doing their fall dance on the water. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #oaktrees #trees #longexposure

I think this #HighKey image of a beautiful tern landing on an old piling fits today's #BlueSkyArtShow theme of #bright. #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin #birds #terns #birdsinflight #Bluesky

Today's #BlueSkyArtShow theme is #bright. I'm interpreting this as a bright blue sky. I've made many #longexposure images from this spot in our local wildlife refuge. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #clouds #Bluesky #reflections #Relax

It's #scape day. This is a long exposure of three minutes made of my favorite old snag on my favorite beach. I got to this spot at 5:30am and left 2 hours later. The sunrise was incredible. I had the beach all to myself. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #clouds #longexposure

It's #FlyDay. This is another in a series of images I made of a great blue heron that came in for a landing very close to me. They have incredible wing spans and are extraordinarily beautiful. #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin #herons #birds

For #HumansOfBlueSky, I used a zoom lens to photograph two of my friends under the trees of what we refer to as the Oak Garden. It floods occasionally and we wade out into it and make images. You might have to zoom in to see the humans. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #oaktrees #trees

Awwww! This adorable litte hispid cotton rat was munching on a blade of bermudagrass at our local wildlife refuge. I had my long lens and made its portrait. I mentioned to it that there are raptors about and to be careful. #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #EastCoastKin
