The BBC is not News & Current Affairs, though its a very big News biz.

Total BBC expenditure £4.5 b. p.a., largely from the licence fee. Though it earns from sales of programs made. Much of the programs made have been outsourced, creating work.

Has to go & soon. This will mean the spring. But with him all the old Blairite lags & their acolytes must be 'shown the door' too.

The hard bit is imagining a Labour govt. with competents rather than Place Men. Those who have been bought (most of the cabinet) have to be pushed aside.

The natives are getting more & more restive. Yesterday a big crowd gathered round a ICE squad & shooed 'em off.

Not much talked about is if 47 dies leaving J D Vance, the cut-price Gilead, POTUS till 2018.

Despite 2 further years of mayhem it'd be better for the term to be completed.

As in most things in life, there is choice. Right now it's between Culture Committee trying unsuccessfully [they need a barrister to do the questioning..] to winkle the truth out of Prescott and Shah, or watch Panahi's, No Bears on iPlayer.

If you're a Panahi fan, this is not exactly a choice.

#bicycles

In my family it easy to see how members married: pinpointed on map they were all villages close by.

Presumably biking (men and women) meant opportunity to increase the size of the gene pool. As of course as did the railways before.
Things like money for a cab or access to a family coach: horse-drawn or motorized. Vanishingly few women had access to $ of their own to pay for that kind of mobility. Even women born wealthy lost control of their assets upon marriage: her money became his via the Common Law doctrine of Couverture.

#ICE

When Homeland Security was set up following 9/11, we saw arrests of all sorts of people who were deemed a threat (Muslims), by men who were not in para-militaries or masked.

There is surely little chance of this SA-ification of ICE stopping while Stephen Miller is (who put him) in charge.
Abolish ICE is the absolute minimum acceptable policy.
eric swalwell said on msnow that a major goal of a dem majority after the midterms would be for ice masks to come off and badges to come out, this is insufficient

Public are being consulted on scrapping District Councils.

1. An obvious No: DCs are within easy reach for P2P contact. Who wants to travel 40 miles to get answers not satisfied by phone calls?

2. Many DCs are in modern buildings designed for the job.
