Although guns have been a part of US culture from the beginning, modern right-wing gun culture is downstream of the industry's need for profit, and they do that by selling a fantasy of right-wing violence against left wingers, Pretti doesn't fit that fantasy bsky.app/profile/hcom...
We're is the NRA shouting about 2A rights. No fucking where that just shows you what they truely care about. We are just cannon fodder for profits

1) Melugin slips in here something Fox has repeatedly contradicted on-air: Pretti never drew his gun.
2) Melugin is on Homan’s side of his ongoing schism with Noem/Bovino over enforcement tactics, trying to preserve the mass deportation project.
Bill Melugin of Fox News may be the best-sourced journalist within ICE and CBP. If he's hearing this, the administration has a real problem.

Fox News once postured as the patriotic opposition to purported government tyranny. Right now, its primary purpose is to explain to viewers why it is good that masked agents of the state are executing Americans on the street. www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/fox...

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.

Recall that a district court wrote a lengthy and closely reasoned opinion blocking DOGE's access to sensitive SSA data after extensive briefing. The Fourth Circuit agreed. Then SCOTUS threw that out with no explanation in a two-page emergency order.
"Two members of Elon Musk’s DOGE team working at the Social Security Administration were secretly in touch with an advocacy group seeking to “overturn election results in certain states,” and one signed an agreement that may have involved using Social Security data to match state voter rolls..."
If anyone has any information on the identity of the "advocacy group tyring to overturn election results in certain states” and who were secretly in contact with DOGE, my Signal is DavidGilbert.01

imo, one of the most undercovered shifts in the media landscape is the emergence of *spanish-language* right-wing media. here's some of what's happening in that space in the last week.

you just don't see language like this in right-wing spaces anymore, quite shocking to see it.

There would be no conceivable reason to handle the policy this way it they really believed it were legally defensible.
A whistleblower says the memo authorizing these irregular entries was handled in a hush-hush manner, being given to a subordinate to read, for example, on condition that it be handed back to a supervisor waiting there on the spot with no copy kept. That sounds like consciousness of guilt to me. /3

Roundup of the insane rhetoric coming from the right at the moment. It's remarkable how *little* violence we've seen from protesters, given the feds' aggression. Maybe I've missed something, but the worst I've seen is people throwing snowballs. The MN weather has injured more cops than protesters.
